Fidelis Works was founded in 2005 by entrepreneur Carla Kocher. Carla has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a master’s degree in Public Administration. Her professional experience includes serving as a legislative aide with the Michigan House of Representatives, an administrator for a long-term care facility and as the CEO of a large state- and federally-funded human services agency. Developing and operating a corporation and retail business have provided some of most exciting and rewarding challenges of her career. Fidelis is the Latin word for faith. The corporation name has two meanings. First, Carla believes that faith works. Making a living from a creative endeavor requires faith (a sense of humor and a marvelously supportive spouse). Second, Carla hopes that her creative and business endeavors demonstrate works of faith and love for people and the natural world around us.
